A field day excursion to Petro Farm Eneabba, located about 280 kilometres north of Perth, generated interest to further investigate how solar powered pumping can be introduced to the Kimberley region on a larger scale.
The excursion, hosted by REAQUA and Northwest Hydro Solutions, saw customers and businesses of Northwest Hydro Solutions travel to Petro Farm to view the solar powered pumping centre pivot irrigation system supplied by REAQUA.
REAQUA WA Business Development Manager, Andre Pepi, and Ray Cooper, from GG Pumps and Electrical, provided a tour of the a 5,000 head of cattle station and gave an overview of why a solar powered pumping system was the right solution for the property in delivering a year round water supply.
Northwest Hydro Solutions Managing Director Patrick Annesley said it was of great interest for the company and its customer to see how solar pumping can work on a large scale.
“If the right infrastructure and technology in solar pumping can work for pivots it opens up a whole new perspective for the irrigation industry up in the Kimberley,” he said.
REAQUA provided a courtesy bus and transported the group to Eneabba, for the excursion that was held in late-May.
