Farming in rural and regional Australia can be an isolating experience. But a new cross-industry information portal, being referred to as the “online farmer’s sidekick”, is set to change all of that.

The Farm Table is an online solution for the Australian agricultural industry, allowing farmers, producers, students and the agri-service sector to find the latest information, services and products they need to make important investment decisions.

The Farm Table will also be an online ecosystem where people from agricultural, pastoral and urban communities can find each other, access new opportunities, and build knowledge without having to leave the farm.

When it is launched, The Farm Table site will become a comprehensive hub of resources, research, products and software relating to a wide range of agricultural sectors including irrigation and water.

“There is so much wonderful work being done across the industry, but this often results in information overload,” said The Farm Table Managing Director, Airlie Thescowthick. “In one site, The Farm Table aims to coordinate and connect the dots of our large and often dispersed industry.”

The Farm Table will focus on adding value to farmers in four key areas:

●       Build (Knowledge Library) — An extensive agriculture database with resources to help farmers build knowledge while on-farm.

●       Boost (Opportunities Database) — A national training, events and grants hub to help reduce the search costs involved with seeking opportunities off-farm.

●       Accelerate (Innovation Hub) — A technology and software library so farmers can compare agricultural technologies and software to aid future investment decisions.

●       Exchange (Online Community) — A web-based application to exchange ideas, ask questions, connect with others and share knowledge online.

REAQUA is proud to support the launch of The Farm Table, and looks forward to seeing farmers in Australia and around the world gain access to timely and relevant knowledge about the efficiency, environmental impact, and energy use of water technologies.

REAQUA’s Managing Director, Ben Lee, said, “Having access to relevant up to date information about the latest advances in water technology innovation is critical to our rural clients. Communication plays a vital role in Australian Agriculture particularly given the remote nature of the industry, and REAQUA are pleased to be a part of this collaborative project.”

He continued, “We see The Farm Table as a platform that is leading the efforts of the Agricultural industry to improve collaboration and communication among participants with Airlie and her team bringing a great understanding and fresh approach.”

The Farm Table will be launching on November 9th 2017. Head to the website for more information.
